2013 Review

It’s that time of the year when I do my year review; so erm how did I do? Welllllllllllllllllllll sigh*. I started 2013 with a long list of New Year resolutions, looking back now I.... erm (covering my face)!!!

This year I discovered that I have the ability to hibernate and disappear sporadically as many of the friends and relatives I promised to spend more time with this year would testify.

I wished I could say I was good with my new year resolutions for 2013- then I’d be able to show off with my driving licence, first ticket and a picture of myself driving despite all the many foxes and unreasonable road users that worry me.  Then I’d be able to say to you I tried a new cuisine and I didn’t order rice or fish (covering my face and shaking my head). Then I’d be able to explain to you what ‘Securitization ’ is without stammering or looking so sad like someone just stole my bread. Then I’d be able to say to you confidently that ‘no soy español, pero puedo hablar español casi como una nativa’. Then I’d be able to oppress with my size 6 body (actually this one is my gym partner’s fault- I chose the worst possible partner, one time on our way to the gym she bought me chocolates and afterwards we went to the McD.  (shaking my head)!!!!

Sigh*

But I did do a lot better than I did last year, unlike last year I ate more fruits, reduced my sugar intake, went down from being very overweight to just slightly overweight (I know, I keep telling my doctor his scale thing is wrong, but noooo he thinks he’s always right).

I did start something I have thought about doing for a long time, I started sharing my writings with people. Granted I’m still not as prolific as I should be, but I am still proud of myself.

I am publicly making a promise to myself, this time next year I will get a 100% pass mark on my New Year resolutions- I shall not fail! (All I have to do now is think about easy new year resolutions- [thinking] I wonder if I’ll get away with putting ‘eat rice at least once a day’ on the list)
Have you done your review? How did you do?

  1. Smh at your gym partner, wow! Just out of curiosity, did you enjoy the mcd's? I suppose that's all that counts right :-)
